Dear Katinka, thanks a lot for your contribution. We are very concern now regarding data extraction and the contradiction with economic empowerment. I believe this is a major contradiction that transcends the possibilities of a beneficial use for African populations. So does their connection to energy. We have many dilemmas now that we would like to share with you. We certainly need critical thinking in digital training.

Dear Roser
Yes, indeed. These contradictions are writ large in the current approach to data extractivism and usage. It is truly concerning that history seems to repeat itself given the manner in which data could be abused to build models to enrich others and not those whose data are being used.

Mimi

Appreciate for having insight in this important sector with digital era but I wonder about the role of regional collaboration in fostering digital sovereignty. Could a united approach across Sub-Saharan countries be more effective than individual efforts?” Or "What are your thoughts on how digital infrastructure development could be balanced with privacy and data sovereignty?
